What Are My Options for Student Loans in Delaware?

Investing in education is one of the most important things you can do. Whether you want to send your child to private elementary schools, middle schools, or high schools, or you are pursuing your undergraduate or graduate degree, we want to make sure you have the support you need to do so. That’s why we’ve created several options for student loans in Delaware. If you live, work, or attend school in the area, we’d love to help you invest in your future.

Here Are a Few Options for Student Loans in Delaware:

Loans for Private Elementary, Middle, and High School Educations

There are several fantastic private schools in New Castle County—many of which will provide an outstanding education for your elementary, middle, and high school students. In fact, Tower Hill School, Archmere Academy, Red Lion Christian Academy, Wilmington Friends School, and Wilmington Christian School receive the highest SAT scores in the entire state of Delaware. Far above the national average. Though attending private school can be a worthy investment, it can also be expensive.

The average tuition for private schools in New Castle County is $10,223 for elementary school and $16,846 for high school. Multiply those tuition rates by the number of years your student will attend and you may be looking at quite a sum. That’s why DEXSTA Federal Credit Union offers private education loans that will allow you to borrow up to $30,000 annually so your student can attend any of these approved schools. We will cover all education costs and feature no penalties for families who wish to pay their 15-year loans off sooner.

Loans for Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees

If you are looking to attend undergraduate or graduate school, DEXSTA offers private student loans that will cover tuition, fees, room, and board as well as other qualified educational expenses. Whether you need to cover the entire amount of your education, or the remaining balance after grants, scholarships, and other financial aid, you can borrow up to $45,000 annually for undergraduate loans or $60,000 annually for graduate loans. We offer 15-year loans with no payoff penalty should you wish to pay them off sooner.

Our interest rates are based on current Prime Rates with loan fees between 2% and 8% though we offer discounts for those who elect for automatic payments or have 48 consecutive on-time payments. Our loans are available to those 18 years of age or older, or who are borrowing with a co-signer, who have good credit and are a member of DEXSTA Federal Credit Union. If you are not yet a member, join us, we’d love to welcome you into our community.

Student Loan Consolidation

For those who have graduated school with a student loan—or multiple student loans—we also offer student loan consolidation packages that will roll all of your current loans into one easier-to-manage payment per month at a lower interest rate. With fixed rates as low as 4.75% as well as short, ten-year terms, our student loan consolidation packages can save you thousands of dollars as well as years of payment.
